Airports

Airports are places of pleasure and tension.

When we welcome family and friends we are happy and excited.

When we say goodbye often we are sad.

While we wait to fly we have a subconscious nervousness that the plane might crash.

When we are delayed we experience irritation and fatigue.

When we listen to nonsense excuses from airlines we know contempt.

Airport layouts often seem to have been designed by some madman.

We usually have to walk miles.

The shops are usually expensive.

The parking expensive.

The food mediocre.

What is it about airports?

Airports are places of fantasy and illusion.

They offer the idea of moving to somewhere new, to adventure, to unexpected meetings.

So for good or bad airports are our halls of dreams, maybe they are all we have.

Enjoy your airports!
