Come in all shapes and sizes

Just one aspect today

If you change then very often the last people to accept this will be your family

Because it means to acknowledge that they have not

That the world might have moved on

Times have changed

The family unit is often very conservative

And to accept your changes means to disturb the status quo in the family

Many will not accept this

Remember that your family are only genetic relatives

Your soul is yours

Your spirit is independent of all

Make your own way

Sometimes this might upset the family

However your personal growth is why you are here
So long as you are honest, correct and loving in your behaviour
Let the family be
No regrets it is just the way it is.

Greenhouse fantasies anyone?

Over 99.9% of the earth’s atmosphere consists of nitrogen, oxygen, and argon.

Whereas CO2 makes up about 95% of the atmospheres of Venus and Mars, it currently accounts for only about 0.038% of the earth’s atmosphere (i.e. 380 parts per million), compared with a pre-industrial revolution figure of about 0.028%.

Water in its various forms ranges from 0 to 4% of the atmosphere and its properties vary according to what form it is in and the altitude at which it is found.

Humans are responsible for about 3.4% of the CO2 emitted to the atmosphere annually, mostly from the burning of coal, oil, and natural gas, and the production of cement; the rest comes from natural sources such as volcanoes, the outgassing of the oceans, and the biosphere.

Humans are probably responsible for about 2.5% of the total greenhouse effect

(Milloy, 2006a).

Yes it is correct that we should pay more attention to our behaviour and stewardship of planet earth

No it is not right or honest that we be bombarded with unscientific and hysterical pseudoscience posing as fact

Inform yourself by visiting David Pratt's website and reading his article "The Global warming scare"
Just put his name into Google search and then when on site click latest additions no 2.

New shift

Today global warming has moved into the mainstream

No longer considered the ideas of nutty scientists.
It is official policy, it is real
Endorsed by the United Nations no less
It also happens to be false
The science supporting the idea of global warming is an unproven hypothesis while counter arguments are much more reasonable and compelling
Interesting how long the truth will take to filter through
Years probably
No matter we will all pay more taxes to fight something that has yet to be proven true.
For politicians it allows them to look sincere and concerned
And for you?
Do you care?
Time to inform yourself and have an opinion of your own.
Where to look?
Ask around or keep reading here.

So sensitive

Notices every slight

Every nuance

Every slight inflection

And where has this got you?

In a worse mess than before.

How can you feel good if all your energy is searching out real or imagined criticism?

Start looking at yourself and let others be.

Learn to like yourself.

You are what your thoughts have made you

Literally you are the creation of your own thoughts.

And tomorrow you will be the product of your thoughts today.

So can you see why your thoughts are so important?

Let others get on with their own lives

Do not worry about what they think or say.

Worry about your own thoughts.

Make them nice.

Learn to love

Learn to be loving

Learn to think thoughts free of judgement

Learn to have only nice thoughts.

Learn to wonder at the beauty of our world

Change yourself and you change your world.

Modern noise

Most modern humans operate on about 35 - 40% of their energy potential.

Is this true?

Yes although not widely known.

Obviously a combination of factors, unique to each individual.

Some though are common to all.

Just taking one.

Sensory overload.

Constant bombarding of the senses

Visually, audibly and emotionally.

Much is unavoidable for those living in towns or cities.

That is most of us.

We can though train ourselves to cut out a lot of it.

In particular by not allowing radio, tv, music and dj's to be in our ears all the time.

Ever thought why you do this?

For many or even most it is so that they do not have to listen to their minds.

To the fears and stressful ideas that come in if they do not have some noise distracting them all the time.

There is a choice though.

The first step is to acknowledge that this is so.

Test this out

It's easy.

Turn off the devices and see what comes into your head.

What ideas, sounds thoughts

If they tend to be worrying thoughts.

Then yes you have a problem.

A problem to know how to stop or change this.

Because it is possible to live without.

And much more enjoyable.

So start with the first step.
Check out what comes into your mind when you stop sensory overload.
Then be clear whether or not the major stressful thought can be dealt with.
If yes then do so.
If no then banish, yes push it out until you can take action.
Take control of yourself
Then you are taking back some of that 35 - 40% energy loss.

The peaceful majority are irrelevant

The Peaceful Majority

an email sent to us recently.

Read it and reflect

What are you doing?

"I used to know a man whose family was German aristocracy prior to World War Two.
They owned a number of large industries and estates. I asked him how many German people were true Nazis, and the answer he gave has stuck with me and guided my attitude toward fanaticism ever since."Very few people were true Nazis "he said," but many enjoyed the return of German pride, and many more were too busy to care. I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools. So, the majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, "they owned us, and we had lost control, and the end of the world had come. My family lost everything I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies destroyed my factories."

We are told again and again by "experts" and "talking heads" that Islam is the religion of peace, and that the vast majority of Muslims just want to live in peace.

Although this unqualified assertion may be true, it is entirely irrelevant.

It is meaningless fluff, meant to make us feel better, and meant to somehow diminish the specter of fanatics rampaging across the globe in the name of Islam.

The fact is that the fanatics rule Islam "
It is the fanatics who march.

It is the fanatics who wage any one of 50 shooting wars worldwide.

It is the fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout Africa and are gradually taking over the entire continent in an Islamic wave.

It is the fanatics who bomb, behead, murder, or honor kill.

It is the fanatics who take over mosque after mosque.

It is the fanatics who zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and homosexuals. The hard quantifiable fact is that the "peaceful majority" is the "silent majority" and it is cowed and extraneous. "

Communist Russia comprised Russians who just wanted to live in peace yet the Russian Communists were responsible for the murder of about 20 million people.
The peaceful majority were irrelevant.

China 's huge population was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people.

The average Japanese individual prior to World War 2 was not a warmongering sadist. Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across South East Asia in an orgy of killing that included the systematic murder of 12 million Chinese civilians; most killed by sword, shovel, and bayonet.

And, who can forget "Rwanda , which collapsed into butchery. Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were "peace loving"?

History lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt, yet for all our powers of reason we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points:

Peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence.

Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if they don't speak up, because like my friend from Germany , they will awake one day and find ",that the fanatics own them, and the end of their world will have begun.

Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Serbs Afghans, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many others have died because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late.

As for us who watch it all unfold; we must pay attention to the only group that counts; the fanatics who threaten our way of life.

Lastly, I wish to add: At the risk of offending someone, I sincerely think that anyone who rejects this as just another political rant, or doubts the seriousness of this issue or just deletes it without sending it on, is part of the problem.

About time

She said
And yet there are so many other steps we can take.

What are we talking about?

In all its forms

In all its nasty deceit

Hypocrisy and lies.

Endless provocation

Endless discussion designed to preserve the prejudice

So please learn.

Once we realise how much our culture
Our societies

How much our lives

Accepts prejudice of one kind or another

Silently shrugging our shoulders

Resigning to the status quo.

So we perpetuate these things.

See prejudice clearly for what it is

Say so

Get involved intelligently

Make a difference

Yes it is about time.
Expose prejudice to the light of day
Let us all help to get rid of prejudice
Start with yours

Is there?

Any approach so rational, so just, so impartial, so elevating, so motivating as that presented by the perennial or ageless wisdom?

Artificial distinctions and conceptions are wholly expunged.

Fanciful ambitions have absolutely no place.

Mechanical devices are completely absent.

The root of all separations and enmities - selfishness - is exposed and denounced.

The inflexibility of moral law is declaimed.

The realization of individual aim is made entirely individual.

Insuring that not an item is lost in the long account each man runs up in his many lives.

Handing over to each the determination and the acquirement of his chosen aim.

The perennial wisdom does what no other system has done or can do -

Affirms the moral consciousness, vindicates the moral sense, spurs the moral motive.

So it is both practical and practicable.
Don't know what we are talking about?
It's the truth about our history
Our heritage
Yes really there is a record of everything it's known as the perennial wisdom
Have a look

Nature beckons

For many years we are too young

For other years probably too old

For many too distracted

We might have eighty years plus or minus in all to experience this life

That leaves only thirty five or so

Thirty five years to do what?

To be conscious of nature
The greatest show on earth
Just thirty five times thats all

To make the effort to learn about her

To be conscious of how things are

How many will go out and notice something as simple as leaves growing

We cannot create leaves as nature can

All over the Northern or Southern hemisphere at the same time
The explosion that is springtime.
You will only have thirty five or so times where you can pay full attention so don't waste this year's.

Ever thought how much energy spring takes?

The miracle of nature is something that deserves your attention

Just this year notice how things grow
How they perpetuate themselves.

The intelligence at work

This we are told started with a random interaction of chemicals at some point in our distant past
Or so some scientists would have us believe

And the tooth fairy is real too
Too much intelligence
Too much complexity
For this to be random anything
Nature is intelligence
Hierarchy too
Consciousness as well
Respect nature and wonder how does it all interact in the way it does

Then notice what we are doing to it

Any wonder things are more and more unstable?

Enjoy nature while we can.
Go further make your contribution
Help us preserve what is left
Make your move.

Little things

Little little things are what make the difference

When we forget little things

When we do not remember little things

Others notice

For a while with sympathy

For a while with irritation

Then one day they explode

One little thing too many

Pay attention to your little things

One day they can literally change your life

For good

Or bad

Little things

Comes to all of us

Do you regard this as being OK?

Can you learn from it?

Can you understand it?

There are so many different types of pain

The stubbed toe type

Bad flu, food poisoning

Pain of loss
Broken this or that

The pain of not knowing

And yet all can lead to peace of mind

It depends on how we understand
What we learn from each pain
Try regarding pain as a lesson
Accept that there are no accidents
That pain has more than one dimension
Determine to become wiser from the experience
Use pain to grow
Do not see pain as being only a negative experience
Pain exists to protect us
Pain exists to teach us
Use pain, learn from pain
Pain is a natural part of life

So busy

No time for you

No time even for myself
Busy busy all the time.

You would not treat your car this way.

So stop it.

What is your hurry?

Are you running away from something?
Are you running towards something?
Do you even know?
Give time to yourself.
Consider what is it you are after.
Then approach it in a calm manner.
So much nicer than rushing around.

Clean unspoilt

How lucky we are to have them around.
Can you imagine life without them?
Their screams, shouting, noisiness, enthusiasm.
Exuberance about life.
Until we start training them for life.
What a shame we repeat what countless other generations before us have done
Bending them to our cultural norms
Filling them with our myths and fears, prejudice even.
Enjoy them while they are clean and unspoilt.
Our children of course.

Mmmmm - 41

That the world is in such a bad condition, morally, is a conclusive evidence that none of its religions and philosophies, those of the civilized races less than any other, has ever possessed the truth.

The right and logical explanations on the subject of the problems of the great dual principles, right and wrong, good and evil, liberty and despotism, pain and pleasure, egotism and altruism, are as impossible to them now as they were 1880 years ago.

When desperation hits it feels like there are no choices.

Desperation drives many to take inappropriate actions.

Once taken there are other consequences, other actions maybe.

In times of desperation hold on try not to overreact.

Talk it over with someone before you act.

When in desperate situations it helps to have an outside view.

If that is not possible then plunge into something that demands total concentration, keep with it until you are really tired.

Chances are the desperation will have subsided somewhat.

If not then sleep, just crash out.

Let time pass.

Only with the passage of time can we see more clearly

Why is air a lot like sex?

Because it's no big deal unless you're not getting any.

Do you create jokes?

Do you like jokes?

Amazing how inventive some of us are

Certainly many jokes keep coming around

But others are truly original

May they keep on coming

It's nice to laugh

To find things funny

To let go.

May we all remember to how to laugh

Question can you laugh at yourself?
When did you last time?

So cool

On the outside that is

On the inside not so cool in fact often quite insecure

Be gentle around teenagers

They might not be so cool with us

But then they are learning

How to relate to us too

We all need to be patient with each other

Help each other to understand
Besides what do we know about the world as they find it?
The one we created for them
Do we wonder they are not too impressed with us?

Real friends

Are rare

True friends that is

Those who are there for you when things go wrong

Who do not disappear at the first whiff of trouble

Funny how when you need them the ones you thought would be there just disappear

On the periphery was an acquaintance who you did not see as a friend

This person offers help

Is there to listen and support you.

Question were you such a bad judge of character?

Maybe so

Maybe you were caught up in illusion

The illusion that your circle really liked you.

Stop and look around

Are you straight with your friends?

Are you honest?

Do you step forward when things go wrong?

Are you a friend?

Now is a good time to look at your friends and yourself

Friends are special

Be special for those you call friends

Be a true friend
How they behave when you need friends is up to them
Just make sure that you are a true friend when needed

Politically correct

Politically correct or PC as it has come to be known.

Even the two words themselves sound unlikely.

There are always two sides in any given situation those who agree with any particular issue and those who do not

PC today is used by both sides to help promote their own point of view.

Or more usually if you notice to enforce the program of those in power.

Whatever the rights and wrongs of that program

The spin imparted is just another part of our modern world.

Just another layer of disinformation..

Politically correct?

No thanks just old fashioned straight talking would be nice once in a while

Lighter and lighter

The days are getting longer
Nights shorter
Where do your thoughts turn?
Lighter clothes

Sitting outside

Sunbathing maybe

Travelling to different places?

Whatever the choice

Do it with appreciation for what you have
Be aware of these longer lighter days

Money as it really is

There is a problem attendant upon accumulating money.

Very few people are born with the ability to accumulate wealth who at the same time do have not a love for it or a large estimate of its power.

For the karma that gives them the ability and drive to accumulate it carries with it the other qualities generally found in wealthy people, impelling them to require something in return for expenditure.

This over time makes them cynical in their relations with others who have less than they.

Paranoia also eats away at them because they never know if people like them or their money.

Money creates division in their families and children.

The accumulation and retention of money requires ongoing time and attention.

A life devoted to it one might say.

So really any way you look at it money is a problem.

Funny thing is that this is not new and has been so throughout history.

Why then do otherwise intelligent people go down a road that leads to loneliness and emptiness?

A road where at the end of their days they cannot take it with them.

There are other things we can do with our lives.

Let your choices be healthy ones.
Use your imagination to search out how others have chosen to use their lives
Consider these options
See money as it really is.

Family games

Are often not very nice ones

There is usually an alpha male and female somewhere

Observe the games they play

Often quite brutal

Do you get involved?

Are you one?

Want to continue silly games?

You might many families do

Alternatively opt out

Be correct and charming to all

Stay uninvolved in game play

Lead your life free from nastiness
Do not play family games they are bad for your health

Angry people

Do not seem to care.

They never seem to learn

If you are angry whenever something is not to your liking then you lose.

Because angry people do not listen too well.
Upsetting others

Angry people create stress in themselves

They have to be right

They are so often one step from violence.

One step from losing control

So all in all anger is not so cool.

Learn to control your anger

Better still learn how to remove the causes of your anger.

No one likes angry people

We are what we do

Is a website

Today more and more people do not want to join organisations

Many do want to help or contribute through or with organisations
New ways of contributing are evolving

So the movement shown above is one of these new approaches

No membership

No joining

Just your actions when and if you choose

They have some good ideas

See for yourself

Other mothers

Do not try to control

Other mothers can become amazing life long friends

These mothers let you go out into the world - alone

So that you may become your own person

They are there for you when and if you ask for help

They ask nothing except to be friends

They are able to help the relationship change from mother and daughter to friends
They are unfortunately a rarer breed than the selfish control freaks

May you be so lucky!

Tuesday, March 06, 2007

Some mothers

Come in all shapes and sizes

Not only are they physically different

They are also very different in how they perceive life

Some can even be selfish

If yours is one of these then beware

It is war because a selfish mother will not change without a fight.

If your mother is used to controlling you

Using you

Asking you why this, why that, then you have two choices

Become her poodle and lifelong servant

Or understand that you have the responsibility to lead your own life

The right even

You might choose to serve her if she is ill

However if this is not the case then decide are you being used and abused?

If you cannot see this then ask your siblings or friends what they see

If this is the case then invite her to get on with her own life
Tell her that you wish to get on with yours

That you do not wish to communicate all the time

Tell her what you find reasonable and stick to this

There will be many battles before selfish mothers allow their daughters to have their own lives

Daughters you choose

Poodle or freedom?

And you?

A half truth is a whole lie.

Whatever you might tell yourself.

A lie is a lie.

Whatever the rationalisation.

So better not lie they catch up with you.

Why is lying an issue?

Because it is what sets us on the road downwards

Away from our own innate morality

You know when you have done wrong

Inside you know

When you quash this inside voice you stifle something else, your conscience

When you do that you remove your central integrity

And this is central to who we are for ourselves

How can you feel good when you know that you lie?

No peace of mind can be yours when you sold it for a lie

Yes these seemingly little things are central to who we are.

To ourselves mainly because we may con the outside world for a while

But lies have a habit of coming out.

And you?

Moon eclipse

Did you see it?

Amazing something one can see only a few times in a lifetime

No cloud in the sky

Clear starry night

Slowly the moon gets covered by this dark shadow

Finally we are looking at a dark reddish moon

And how many of us bothered to get out of our chairs?

Or did we just go OK while watching the news?

One of the wonders of our world

Our companion

Without the moon so many things would be different

The tides

Women's cycles

Violence in patients

And agriculture amongst others

And so on, and how many of us know that one day it will be gone

Not now, not for millions of years

But in one of our future lives it will be gone

Yes gone

Then we will miss it because we take it for granted

Like an old friend
So familiar that we hardly notice

Until he is gone

Hope you saw it

That feeling of tightness and tension

Comes from fear.

Whatever the fear

Stop when you feel the tightness and breath deeply.

Look in front of you see what is there, really see.
Smile, yes smiling changes the tension.

Then look at the cause of the tension.

If you can do something about it fine do it.

If you cannot then change focus move your mind onto something else.
Something external
Something involving
Something requiring your full attention

Later look again.

Make decisions on what to do.

Do it.

Classical music

Did you know that the greatest change in classical music in the last fifty years is the introduction of blind auditions?

Probably not.

Since this approach has been introduced the quality of classical music has improved

Because women are no longer excluded

Because in the audition process they have a fair chance

Hence the best musicians are now being hired

We all gain

Nice that another prejudice bites the dust.
