When will it end?

Time after time we see pictures of Mugabe and his cronies untroubled by world opinion

Intent on staying in power at all costs

One country can end it easily South Africa

Simply turning off the power and applying a little pressure

However this they do not want to do

Because "Bob" was a freedom fighter and so he can do no evil according to the South African President

Yet slowly but surely African and World opinion is changing
And in the world at large greater revulsion for this evil man and his cronies
A horror for sure as those living under his misrule would attest
And for the World maybe just maybe we can see a move towards the point where action can be taken against such behaviour
Slowly slowly the tide is turning against despots and dictators who behave so badly
Probably not in our lives, but maybe our children can live in a world where murder on a national scale is no longer ignored
For all of us it is important that we make known our feelings
Internet petitions might not seem very powerful, however slowly but surely they can persuade our politicians that action and condemnation are what we want them to push for
Every little helps
Make your statement every time you can

A typical American office worker checks his email more than 50 times a day, sends or receives an instant message nearly 80 times a day and visits more than 40 different websites.

The distractions cost American businesses $650 billion a year.

If the problem is as bad in other countries, the likely cost to business in most Western countries is many billions a year.

Help is at hand, maybe, as work is being done on a system that will help users find the information they want from old emails more quickly.
This problem is a major productivity killer and makes countless people miserable.
Email has been getting out of hand for some time now
People being bombarded with email all day long and now with Blackberries and other mobile phones it is moving on to 24/7
No peace or escape for many where companies or jobs demand that employees be available 24/7
And this is without talking about mobile call overload or intrusion
Many are facing a total information overload
Or put another more realistic way a total intrusion overload
With email people need to think more about email etiquette.
People don't know how to behave on email.

We do dumb things like copy emails to 300 of our closest friends, or there are people who phone up to check that you got their email.

That can drive people mad

So to help each other

Don’t send an email and then follow up with a text message or a phone call.

Don’t send unnecessary email

Avoid one-word replies such as "Thanks!" or "Great!"

Use "reply to all" only when absolutely necessary.

Keep your "status alert" updated so people know that you are away from your desk

Make sure your email's subject line clearly reflects its topic and urgency.

Think how you want to be treated by other emailers and do the same to .
And do not, repeat do not, tell friends or others that they will die, drop dead or incur grave misfortune if they do not pass your message on to at least a thousand people in the next thirty seconds
It is demeaning and insulting
Behave with respect

Different agendas

So often men and women manage to confuse each other

It does not matter the nationality

It does not matter the language although of course this can influence things

What matters is how differently we see the world

Funny really because we all live in the same world

Yet once we become adults and start going out with each other problems arise

If we walk down a street or go shopping with each other we see very quickly how we notice and pay attention to different things

Further on in a relationship we learn how we want to use our time differently

Men usually not being so interested in long term committal relationships until long after women

Women looking to create long term relationships in time to have children at a reasonable age

And then there is the small matter of feelings

How women pay great attention to their own feelings and those of others and wonder how the man does not seem to notice

The man meanwhile is busy in his preoccupation with his business life and hobbies

Creatures from different planets

Only if we leave it that way

Both men and women can learn a lot about each other if they make the effort

So why do men and women not make the effort to understand each other better?

Possibly the answer lies in our spending more time with our own sex until we meet a partner

We tend to be with our own sex and so reinforce ideas about the opposite sex, which may or may not be true or even helpful

Do you have friends of the opposite sex?

Just friends

And why does this seem so hard?

Culture often intervenes
Or is it simply because it is easier?
Or we just prefer friends of the same sex?
Maybe because sex is lurking behind any opposite sex relationship
Could be any or all of these, however the point is how do we learn about each other if we do not spend time with each other?
Office relationships are not the same as they are controlled environments with all those other tensions
Think about it where do you learn about the opposite sex?
Or is that the problem we don't except from film, tv, magazines and books
In other words other peoples ideas
We need our own experiences of the other sex
Not other people's
Over to you

Looking at Love

Is not easy to talk about because it is a word that has so many different meanings for so many different people

In old English love comes from the word lufu, which in turn comes from the Sanskrit word lubh to desire but then again it also comes from the Latin word lubare to please, which is very different from desire

Dictionaries and the Internet reveal a huge number of ideas about the word love and the subject of love

Many are confusing and some just plain wrong

So lets try a few questions

Can you tell the difference between love and infatuation?

Between love and attraction?

Between love and sexual desire?

Between love and friendship?

Between sex and intimacy?

Between a good relationship and one that is only giving pleasure?

As you can see love is a tricky subject even to talk about

All ideas about love are in the minds of the one thinking about it

Or is it beyond mind in their hearts?

Doesn't love transcend thinking?

A definition of love that appears quite frequently in dictionaries is

"A deep tender ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude towards a person (thing?) and a sense of underlying oneness"

Maybe it's this underlying oneness that separates love from affection, attraction and desire

Oneness is something that once felt leads us to understand it's awesome nature and gives us a glimpse of another possible way of experiencing life

Love is what we would all like to live in

And so it can be however only once we have learnt to love ourselves

How can we love another if we cannot love ourselves?

Not loving ourselves in a trite narcissistic sense rather in a profound appreciation for what we are

Make love your subject it is so vast

It can lead us away from the mundane and uncomfortable lives we lead

Love is open to all no one can lock it away from us

A fuller deeper experience of life

Love is something that can also be in our experience of nature that feeling of identity with it and again that oneness

Love is simply an amazing subject as it can also free us from the pains of life

Love lifts us to another space

Love can support us

Love can sustain us

Love is the source impulse that created our solar system

Love is a subject so important that we think about it more than any other

Love is the word and idea used in most advertising and marketting

Simply because it has more power as an idea than any other

Love is what we dream of

Love is what we want for our friends and family.

All relationships benefit from love

Look at love

Look at your relationship to it

Love is not as many imagine dependent upon others

Love transcends

Learn about love

Love is

WD - 40

Or " Water Displacement #40 as it was originally called.

The product began from a search for a rust preventative solvent and degreaser to protect missile parts.

WD-40 was created in 1953 by three technicians at the San Diego Rocket Chemical Company.

Its name comes from the project that was to find a 'water displacement' compound.

They were successful with the fortieth formulation, thus WD-40.

The Convair Company bought it in bulk to protect their Atlas missile parts.

Ken East (one of the original founders) says there is nothing in WD-40 that would hurt you.

When you read the 'shower door' part, try it. It's the first thing that has ever cleaned that spotty shower door. If yours is plastic, it works just as well as glass. It's a miracle!

Then try it on your stovetop... Voila! It's now shinier than it's ever been. You'll be amazed.

Here are some of the uses for WD-40:

1) Protects silver from tarnishing.
2) Removes road tar and grime from cars.
3) Cleans and lubricates guitar strings.
4) Gives floors that 'just-waxed' sheen without making it slippery.
5) Keeps flies off cows. How about Horses? Added.
6) Restores and cleans chalkboards.
7) Removes lipstick stains.
8) Loosens stubborn zippers.
9) Untangles jewelry chains.
10) Removes stains from stainless steel sinks.
11) Removes dirt and grime from the barbecue grill.
12) Keeps ceramic/terracotta garden pots from oxidising.
13) Removes tomato stains from clothing.
14) Keeps glass shower doors free of water spots.
15) Camouflages scratches in ceramic and marble floors.
16) Keeps scissors working smoothly.
17) Lubricates noisy door hinges on vehicles and doors in homes.
18) It removes black scuff marks from the kitchen floor! It doesn't seem to harm the finish and you won't have to scrub nearly as hard to get them off. Just remember to open some windows if you have a lot of marks.
19) Bug guts will eat away the finish on your car if not removed quickly!
20) Gives a children's gym slide a shine for a super fast slide.
21) Lubricates gear shift and mower deck lever for ease of handling on riding mowers.
22) Rids rocking chairs and swings of squeaky noises.
23) Lubricates tracks in home windows and makes them easier to open.
24) Spraying an umbrella stem makes it easier to open and close.
25) Restores and cleans padded leather dashboards and vinyl bumpers in vehicles.
26) Restores and cleans roof racks on vehicles.
27) Lubricates and stops squeaks in electric fans.
28) Lubricates wheel sprockets on tricycles, wagons, and bicycles.
29) Lubricates fan belts on washers and dryers to keep them running smoothly.
30) Keeps rust from forming on saws and saw blades, and other tools.
31) Removes splattered grease on stove.

32) Keeps bathroom mirror from fogging.
33) Lubricates prosthetic limbs.
34) Keeps pigeons off the balcony (they hate the smell).
35) Removes all traces of duct tape.
36) Folks even spray it on their arms, hands, and knees to relieve arthritis pain.
37) Florida 's favorite use is: 'cleans love bugs from grills and bumpers.'
38) In the state of New York WD-40 protects the Statue of Liberty from the elements.
39) WD-40 attracts fish. Spray a LITTLE on live bait or lures and you will be catching the big one in no time. Also, it's a lot cheaper than the chemical attractants that are made for just that purpose. Keep in mind though, using some chemical laced baits or lures for fishing are not allowed in some states.
40) Use it for fire ant bites. It takes the sting and itch away immediately.
41) WD-40 is great for removing crayon from walls. Spray on the mark and wipe with a clean rag. 42) Also, if you've discovered that your teenage daughter has washed and dried a tube of lipstick with a load of laundry, saturate the lipstick spots with WD-40 and re-wash. Presto! Lipstick is gone! 43) If you sprayed WD-40 on the distributor cap, it would displace the moisture and allow the car to start.

The basic ingredient in WD-40 is FISH OIL.

For centuries, plagues of jellyfish have come inshore every 10 or 12 years and lingered along the Côte d'Azur for periods of about four years.

This pattern has now changed.

The jellyfish have appeared each year for the past eight years in far greater numbers than before.

Some scientists and ecological campaigners point to a rise in sea temperature, linked to the warming of the planet.

Others blame a shortage of natural predators such as the bluefin tuna and the turtle, which have been driven almost to extinction by overfishing and pollution.

Professor Gabriel Gorsky of the Observatoire Océanographique at Villefranche-sur Mer, also points to changes in the wind and current patterns, changes which may also be linked to global warming.

Jellyfish live deep in the sea during the day but rise to the surface at night to feed. Abrupt changes in wind and current can then carry them onshore.

This year's jellyfish invasion coincides with a row between the European Commission and the French government and fishermen about alleged overfishing of bluefin tuna in the Mediterranean.

Brussels ordered the fishery to close last week after calculating that the whole of the 2008 quota for European boats had already been caught.

Paris is pushing for an "emergency" reopening of the fishery.

Marine biologists warn that this could not only threaten the survival of the tuna; it could also prove uncomfortable for holidaymakers

Has no government ever thought to pay the fishermen to be retrained?

To pay them to sit at home even rather than wipe out yet another part of the very ecosystem we all need to survive?

Time for new thinking

Mad mad species

"Bigeye and yellowfin tuna populations are falling and the average size of captured fish is shrinking, a clear sign that those tuna are in dire need of conservation measures," the environmental groups say.

"At the same time, the size and efficiency of fishing fleets continue to increase.

As fish become less abundant, their market value rises, and operators invest more in technology resulting in more pressure on the stocks.

In the face of declining populations, some nations are demanding the right to increase the size of their fishing fleets."

"Despite a clear legal mandate and declining tuna stocks, three international meetings of the IATTC held over the past year have failed to produce measures to protect the very resource upon which not only the tuna industry, but the health of the Pacific marine ecosystem depends."

"The IATTC once had an enviable track record of following scientific advice, conserving tuna populations and tackling major conservation issues like dolphin mortality," said Bill Fox, the WWF's vice president of fisheries.
"It needs to recapture that spirit and dedication, perhaps using the new management ideas and methods it is exploring, like property rights for fishermen."
Meghan Jeans, Pacific fish conservation manager for Ocean Conservancy, said: "The health of the ocean environment, the long-term sustainability of tuna stocks and the interests of many are being put at risk by the short-sighted self interests of a few."

Humane Society International's vice president Kitty Block said: "As it currently stands, there's every incentive to block consensus and none to reach it.

If, instead, the fishery was shut down until consensus is reached, member countries would undoubtedly work harder to agree on effective management measures."

In 2007, representatives of the IATTC agreed to be more proactive in mitigating and preventing tuna stock reductions, and to undertake a comprehensive review of its performance.

This review has yet to begin.

Opportunities for consuming tuna in an environmentally friendly way are steadily diminishing. In the past the concern was for the "bycatch" species – that is, where other marine creatures such as dolphins were being accidentally caught.

Accordingly, tuna could be certified as "dolphin-friendly".

But now concern has moved on to the tuna itself.

There is only one tuna fishery – the American Albacore Fishing Association in San Diego, California – which is certified as sustainable by the Marine Stewardship Council.

Other fisheries are cause for concern, but the worst is thought to be the Mediterranean and Atlantic fishery for bluefin tuna, which conservationists consider to be close to collapse.

Recently the World Wide Fund for Nature called for a boycott by retailers, restaurants and consumers of Mediterranean bluefin tuna so that the species might have a chance to recover before it is too late.

So who listens?

Who stops to think?

Who gets involved?

Summer sun

Is something that traditionally many people look forward to

A respite from grey days

A time of relaxation

Lying on a beach sunbathing

A thought though
Many sun tan lotions and sun blocks contain trace metals

Putting a block of metal on one's skin is not very helpful
Manufacturers do not advise that there are long term effects
For the simple reason that these products are new
No one has done any research into this area yet

It could also be that they do not want to
Manufacturers are not required to by law
Please think twice before using these products
In fact even better think twice before lying in the sun too long
Our ozone layer is not what it was
Lying in the sun today is not so safe if over done

Our world is not as it was so be cautious
Treat the sun with great respect.

Something simple

Does not appear in modern thinking about relationships

When partners first meet physical attraction is high on the list of important points

Age, income, career potential, family and sometimes religion are also factors

Sadly these do not result in ongoing bliss and happiness as around fifty percent of all relationships will be broken and finished within five years

Figures vary from country to country however the trend is clear

We are not very good at finding compatible partners

What to do?

For young people today it would make sense to see if there is a better way of getting the odds in your favour
Arranged marriages are an option however when you talk to those who have this experience you find that this is not much more successful either

Many of the parties involved say that they do not enjoy being together but cultural and religious conventions demand that they stay together
Our fore bearers were not all stupid in fact there is compelling evidence that some of them were very smart indeed

Not only smart but clever and well informed

From acupuncture to architecture to clairvoyance and consciousness evolution they knew more than we know now
In the field of astrology they for sure knew more and it is this that can help us in relationships

If you enter a relationship with someone of the same sign then you are increasing the odds that your relationship will work

It also increases the probability that any children you have will grow up in greater harmony

Signs that do not work together are likely to result in more problems and breakdowns

So if you are entering into a new relationships then check out your compatibility with each other

Star signs are not just for cranks they have a basis in sound knowledge

Knowledge that says simply that those born under the same or compatible conditions are more likely to find harmony with each other

Every little helps

And when looking for a long term partner it makes sense to use every element you can to improve your chances of success

Be wise do not dismiss things just because they are out of fashion or not properly understood

As with anything in the so called alternative area though make sure that anyone you ask for help knows what they are talking about

As of course you would for anything else in your life from dentists to buying cars

Move the odds in your favour

Love and desire

There seems to be some confusion about love and desire

Desire is about me and is often expressed by the thought or statement "I want"
Someone or something "I want"
Desire is in the mind, comes from the mind
Love though is something that comes from the heart, through the heart

Something that transcends self

Desire is selfish

Desire is often about greed

Desire is all about something for me

Love transcends me it can lead to sacrifice
Mothers and parents sacrifice for their children
Love is unconditional
Love and desire are two sides of a coin
The one about possessing the other about sharing, giving

Where are you?

Do you desire?
Do you love?

Can you let go of your desires?

Can you let go the one you love?

As with so much in life we have not really ever thought about this

Try it now
Do you love do you desire?

And if it is desire will you compromise?

Will you let go if you do not get your way

Have you ever thought how desire can poison and destroy

How love can grow and grow

True love that is
Choose to love not desire.

What are they thinking

All those people around you.
All carrying thoughts

All thinking something

What do people think?

Hurrying around silently passing each other

Locked in private thoughts

Thoughts of the day

Where they are going

What they have to do

Who they are meeting

Who they have met

Things they want to buy

Things they want to eat

Things they want to say

And so the day rolls on

Hearing or seeing the news, the latest disasters and problems, the latest lies and deceits

No time for something new just happy to get through the day

Wait a minute is this thinking or is it responding in a programmed way to life and the familiar actions we take?

For most just the actions of the day

And even when thinking is involved often the outcomes are already programmed

Acceptable patterns of response, culturally safe positions for everything

As for thinking how do I do that when life keeps me running around doing mundane routines?

All true

And all irrelevant because it is our own personal intentions that make the difference

Our own disciplines

Will and character

We can move beyond the routine thoughts

Move to a state where we choose not to think although that takes some practice and work

Or we can choose to control our thinking and again this takes some work to discipline our minds.

Important choice really whether or not we wish to slip through life following the herd

Or alternatively we can decide to become masters of ourselves

And those two options to stop thinking or to control our minds are one and the same

Our minds dominate our lives
That is true however we can either let our minds control us or we can learn to control them
If you wish to move ahead in your consciousness evolution then you have to learn to control your mind

Controlling the mind can start any time but we warned it is not easy

It is very difficult
So start by becoming more conscious of where your mind takes you
For most their minds take them all over the place
Anywhere and everywhere

See if you can hold your thoughts where you want them without letting them wander off elsewhere
Do this every day several times a day, in the car, bus wherever
Holding your mind on one point not letting it zoom off
The idea is to see how little control we have over our minds
How our minds control us
How nice it would be if we controlled them
Make a start learn about your own mind

Plane journeys

Can be fun or miserable
Getting up early

Takes so long to get to the airport

Roads always crowded

Parking takes so long

Crowded airport

Endless check in procedures

Security procedures

Plane delayed

Sitting around and then more sitting around

Poor service and food

And you say this can be fun?

Yes if you decide that whatever happens on the journey is not important

If you decide to enjoy the day as one of difference

One where you see and do different things from usual

Even if you travel a lot flying can still be pleasant

But this depends where we put our heads

As is so often the case it is us who determine whether or not the journey and flight are fun
Letting the day take you where it will
Not worrying about delays or noise or crying children
Just being happy to experience a different day with the prospect of sleeping and eating in another country later
Pleasure at not having to work or do the normal things you have to do.
Pleasure that others have to organise your travel
Other people have to look after your safety
That they have to get you from a to b
That you can eat
Watch movies
Chat with new acquaintances
Your choice whather it is fun or misery

Just touching

No not a car accident two humans

Often we get out of the habit of touching

Just busy and never seem to think of it
Doesn't happen often
Recently a couple in the US wrote a book describing how they had decided to make love/have sex every night for a year

It did not work out that way however the net upshot of their experiment showed them how much importance there can be in touching and cuddling

Their claim being that their experience brought them closer together and caused them to touch much more

Do you touch your partner or have you got out of the habit?

If you have got out of the habit then try to change
Change your habit and touch each other more
Touching can say so much more than words
And so they say it does wonders for your relationship

Feeling tired

And worn out

Not once in a while but quite often actually
Usually we assume it is just us

If you could talk to others you would find that quite often many people are feeling the same at the same time

The way energy works is that if you are sensitive then you can feel an earthquake before it arrives

Ditto for many other things in nature

And this can make us feel tired and sleepy
At other times the oxygen levels are out of normal rather like in an aircraft cabin when airlines turn the oxygen level down to get the passengers to sleep

The world around us though is much more subtle than man currently can acknowledge

Unfortunately our scientists are not very good at saying we don't know when they don't really understand something

On a personal level it is also important to be able to say I don't know why when feeling tired for no easily understandable reason

What is also quite smart is to accept this and learn to take a short time out nap or rest

Five or ten minutes can be very helpful in restoring our energy levels particularly if we can really let go

Letting go means no thinking, no thoughts allowed

Just resting, snoozing

The energy levels affecting our planet have changed and the change means adjustment by all of us

Adjustment is often best achieved by resting

So nature makes us feel tired if you will.

Another reason to let go and snooze when feeling unfamiliar tiredness is that fighting it can lead to bad decisions or actions

You can of course always find rational reasons why you are feeling tired however this will not always be accurate or the truth

Trust your intuition

Just accept that quite a few of the changes affecting mankind at the moment are from nature

That is reality and one we might as well learn to adapt to because if we don't then nature will oblige us in more unpleasant ways
Feeling tired is OK
Being stubborn is not

New week

And off we go again

Any hopes?

Expectations possibly?

Anticipation as well maybe?

How we experience things is a function of how we perceive

And how do we perceive?

As a function of all our experiences and training

From family, friends and all those teachers

Often we don't think about how many people have taught us

Fed those perceptions

Influenced how we see the world

How we respond to life situations

Many many people teach us over the course of our lives

And yet the influence of those early teachers is so powerful

Possibly the most important in our lives

For good and bad

Male and female teachers our role models

The first men and women in our lives apart from our parents

In class room environments where we listened and heard what they told us

Absorbing the knowledge they imparted

Laying the foundations for how we understand everything in later life

Being taught how to listen

How to learn and study

And then without looking back hurrying off into life

Teachers forgotten in the excitement of adult life

Good idea to look back sometimes and see if those teachers did us favours or damage

Quite often we do not realise how our thoughts and ideas are stuck in the perceptions and prejudices of those teachers

Check it out

Those early teachers had impact upon your view of the world

Make sure that their values are now yours only if you agree with what they taught you

Otherwise move on to your own views and values

New week indeed

Is a mega business worth around US $9.0 billion dollars today and set to grow to $23.0 billion within the next five years or so

Fans of vaccination more often than not are governments for whom vaccination provides a mantle of the caring government
Fans of vaccination claim that they prevent disease, stop suffering, and save lives
They also claim that they are safe and have been an overwhelming success
Opponents who include many doctors agree that vaccinations can reduce the chances of catching certain diseases but they point out that they also cause disability and death.
In addition the successes have been exaggerated and long term effects poorly researched
In certain applications vaccinations have their place
In many more applications they do great damage to young immune systems

Later in life they arguably lead to many so called modern diseases such as diabetes and MS, which in turn can lead to disability and death

The truth is difficult to arrive at because anyone who challenges the effectiveness of vaccinations is labelled uncaring, irresponsible or accused of putting children's lives at risk

Often the whole weight of the local or national medical establishment is brought to bare on the scientist or writer who dares write anything challenging the current belief about vaccinations

We could go through each and every program from mumps to chicken pox and point out their failures however that is not the purpose of this blog

Rather we want to suggest that this subject is one that every parent should inform themselves about

There are today many good articles and websites addressing this subject on the Internet

The most contentious issue is the one concerning multiple vaccinations, which have negative and long term effects that are not fully understood or researched

It is a subject that should give pause

Nature never gives multiple diseases at the same time

Man does through many current vaccination programs

Dangerously vaccinations do not set up life long immunity meaning that vaccinated children can again be at risk from the same disease later in life

This is the reverse of what used to happen when children contracted what were known as childhood diseases such as mumps and chicken pox and then would have life long immunity

Our point?

Many of today's problems from diabetes to MS are, it is suspected, stemming directly from vaccinations given while young

Young immune systems are not designed to experience the traumas delivered by multiple vaccinations
Little comment is made of the long term effects of various vaccination programs because little research has been done in this area
There is bitter disagreement about the relationship between diabetes, MS and ME with childhood vaccination programs

Consider carefully before vaccinating your children

If you are legally obliged or feel it is correct to vaccinate them then do so but only one vaccination at a time and not too close together is considered sensible

Therefore it is wise to proceed with caution

Your decisions can effect the lifetime health of your children

Sugar levels

Moan moan nothing seems ever to be right

What an unpleasant person

Not all the time mind you just now and then

Enough though to make you irritated

Just had to humour until the mood passes

But then again it might not be mood per se at all

Many people get crotchety and irritable when their sugar levels go down

Give them something to eat or drink and up they come bad mood a thing of the past

So it can be with children

And also with adults

So if you live with or are around someone who gets like this then check out their sugar level
Amazing how many have no idea that this is what causes them to get crotchety and irritable

Feeling safe

Is what guides many of us in making our decisions

What allows us to feel safe?

In normal circumstances it is easy we are comfortable and familiar with our world

Proven precedence guides our choices

We know what works and what does not

We are guided by common knowledge and other people's experiences

Rules tell us what we can do and what we cannot

Thousands of rules for everything in fact

Never have there been so many rules, regulations and controls

Covering every aspect of our lives

From drinking, to smoking, to driving, to thinking

Yes even or particularly our thinking where governments tell us what is right and wrong good and bad

And yet we still feel stress and nervousness

How can this be in this best of all possible worlds?

Much of it is bullshit and we all know this

Because if they did know what they were saying and doing things would have to work better

And they don't

So insecurity increases

Could it be that this is also part of the game?

Why yes if you keep people nervous then they are not thinking so much about what you are doing

Governments throughout history have pointed fingers at wicked enemies outside the gates in order to divert attention

Russia today is a case in point

Nowdays we are more aware and can choose not to play

Indeed opting out of the fear game is good for your health

Very good

The times we are entering will be more fraught more dangerous

We all sense this

Like the first slight breeze on the wind heralding an approaching storm

Our world is moving into different and by definition more dangerous times

Feeling safe in such times can only be achieved by self mastery

Mastery of your emotions

Learning to control your thoughts

Approach this desirable state by avoiding unnecessary bad news

Cut out reading, watching and paying attention to bad news

You don't have to worry about missing things, when bad things happen someone will tell you

Do not watch violent films or violent shows on TV

Become a conscious fan of the beauty of nature

Spend more time in nature

Do not dwell on what has passed, it's gone

Do not dwell on the future, it will not be as you imagine

Keep your thoughts in this moment now

LIfe will not be as you think it will be so focus on enjoying life now

Push worrying out of it.

More detailed ideas on feeling safe take time but start with the idea that feeling safe is a function of where you go in your mind

And where you go in your mind is what will make the difference
So go in your mind to a nice space where there is less violence and bad energy

Can you imagine.........

The unthinkable

That in your country you have suddenly only enough food for nine more meals

In Spain a sudden unexpected strike by truck drivers produced this situation

How it will turn out is at the time of writing unknown

Most modern people in the Western world have no experience of situations like this

Suddenly panic buying and all the Supermarkets are empty

The petrol stations have no more petrol

Shops are empty and shut

Banks shut too and the ATMS don't work

Life as you have known it finishes

What would you do?

What steps would you take?

Do you even know what to buy, before everything is gone?
Learn now
Time to become aware because this situation can happen more often over the coming period
Basic foods such as rice, pasta, sugar, and salt are long lasting and essential
Matches because if there is no electricity suddenly matches have importance
Batteries run down and are not easy to find

And if you have to move without roads or public transport what would you carry with you?

Might seem funny to some however those of us who have been there know how fast things can change when they go

So times are a changing

The unthinkable can happen

Throughout history it always has

Can you imagine?

Being successful

Staying in five star hotels is important to me

And I want everything to be first class

I don't like cheap places

Luxury is important as a measure of my success

Excellent comments and they should warm the hearts of luxury product and establishment owners to know that there are people like that around

People who obsess about expensive places and things

Lives devoted to the consumption of expensive products and services

Not sure that this is any hallmark of being successful though

Consumption is not necessarily any indicator of being successful

What is success?

How do we measure success then?

By consumption?

By having more possessions, money than others?

By what?

Some of the saddest people on the planet have more of everything than others

Some of the most screwed up people are also famous

So what is success?

In business it is clear and easy to measure, the scorecard is simplistic it is money

In real life a little more complex

Devoting one's life to making money can be such a sad waste of time and energy, do we really think this a useful or interesting way to spend the hours of one's life

Politics is another where becoming the leader or Prime Minister is considered the ultimate success

Really kissing backsides, bowing to innumerable pressures from different groups, hours and hours spent listening to others talking attending endless meetings

Successful, hardly

How about doctors then they help people don't they?

Some do but most today are hedged around by regulations and paperwork.
Many wanting to make money or become famous

Some afraid to deviate from proscribed procedures and approaches, corrupted by governments and drug companies alike

Others certainly are successful and usually known for what?

Their compassion, attention and caring

Scientists then, it used to be that they discovered something, while today it is often a fight for funding, recognition and fame not to mention the politics of science

Real success is not so easy to pin down as opposed to public acclaim given to those who acquire, money or power often achieved as the result of less than admirable behaviour

So maybe true success is not about money, power or fame

Maybe it's about more subtle things

Maybe it doesn't matter what we do

What matters is how we do it

Because true success is having good relations with people....................all people

Having no enemies, because you never speak ill of others

Being trusted because you are honest

Having no real money problems not because you have lots of money but because you live modestly within your means

Success is being in harmony with yourself and nature

True success is being love, having no fears, finding peace of mind

Success is always having time for others

So maybe true success is not about winning, not about public acclaim

And if this resonates with you then become successful yourself

Success is not what the money world proclaims

Success is about being human

A good human at that

Nice explanation

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.
He said, 'My son, the battle is between two 'wolves' inside us all..
One is Evil.
It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
The other is Good.
It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.'
The grand son thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather:
'Which wolf wins?'
The old Cherokee simply replied,
'The one you feed.'
Enjoy your day!
This is one of the nicer explanations I have heard

Teeth and the rest

And the rest of our bodies require maintenance

When did you last visit the dentist?

Modern dental techniques are evolving fast

As are new materials and scanning devices
No excuses

Do not leave your teeth unchecked

Problems take a while to emerge but cost so much more in time and treatment if left too long

Take time to check your teeth regularly

And while you are at it take a moment to look at the rest of you

Without doubt our health is our most important asset

Unfortunately we usually treat our health as a given until something goes wrong

Then things can already be too late

Cancer and other life threatening diseases do not normally announce themselves until the later stages

So to ensure that we are in good health is just basic insurance

This does not mean endless paranoia

But it does mean giving respect to your system

Health is too important to neglect
Ask anyone you know who does not have good health
Once you let it go it is difficult to get it back
So be smart

Just so you know

When commercial flights began in 1958 passengers breathed in air supplied directly from the atmosphere using compressors.

But this was deemed to be too expensive, so in 1962 a system was installed to draw the air from the heart of the engines — known today as “bleed” air.
Air is drawn out of the compression section of the engine and cooled. It then enters the cabin, where it mixes with recirculated air that has passed through filters designed to remove bacteria and viruses.

These “recirculated air” filters do not remove any fumes or vapours from the engine.

So if engine oil or hydraulic fuel leaks, because of poorly designed or faulty seals, or even over-filled tanks, toxic chemicals can contaminate the air supply.
At the very least this can cause drowsiness, headaches, flu-like symptoms and nausea — the kind of symptoms that Dr Nicola Hembry, a specialist in environmental medicine, says passengers may wrongly assume have been picked up from another passenger.
At worst, air can be laced with a chemical, tricresyl phosphate (TCP), an organophosphate, or other toxic mixtures of chemicals that have been linked to serious respiratory problems, memory loss, neurological illnesses and even brain damage.
The only modern airliner to use another less potentially toxic approach is the new Boeing dreamliner 787 due into service soon
So it is not always your fellow passengers who cause you discomfort, colds or flu
Anything to do?
Not really
As usual we have been told less than reasonable by governments, regulatory bodies, airlines and aircraft manufacturers all of whom have known about this problem for some time
Just add this to the list of things that you can do nothing about

Following the herd

And what if the herd are not so smart?

In fact human herds are seldom very smart

Like following each other in buying highly advertised brands

Once everyone is wearing the highly promoted brand the point of wearing it has gone

It's status value diminished

And what about washing powders are they really so different?

Or oil companies like Shell, BP or Exxon who can tell any difference in their products?

And are cars today really so different?

What do your purchases say about you?

That you identify with the advertised image and believe that buying the brand will make you in some magical way like the advertised image?

Why not save your money, and decide to buy and use only those things that offer objective performance?

And if you cannot do that then at least make sure your purchase is something useful

Times are approaching, some would say are already here when our life choices need to shift to values of more objective utility

Get in front of the herd

Buy only what you need for a more caring thoughtful life

It is time to change our habits
Leave the herd where it be

Staying young

Is the dream of so many

And a reality for so few

Because many people grow old before their time
They pay scant attention to what allows some people to remain young while others age quickly
Allowing magazines and other media to deafen them with conflicting advice on what to do
Advice that usually supports some company's product or services, a dubious approach given that it is always about spending money
There is another way though

Consider the following they are not rocket science, however they do throw light on a different way of looking at this subject

All lives bring pain and sorrow

They bring happiness too

And in amongst the pain and smiles there are things we can do to stay young

Simple yet difficult things

Remaining curious is one

Finding the beauty in things, taking the time to notice and experience it
Appreciating what we have and not what we do not have

Finding the good in people, being interested in others
Accepting that we all have bad and weak points, am I really so perfect?

Genuine smiling helps, not the automatic facial twitch of the media celebrity world

Smiling from the heart that is

Embracing each and every day with enthusiasm and excitement

Learning that nothing matters life just keeps on going whatever the trials and tribulations

Learning to let go as we cannot control things anyway, it's an illusion

Not taking ourselves so seriously, does it really matter so much what others think?

Thinking of others before ourselves takes our focus outwards away from ourselves

Doing things for others brings pleasure to us and happiness to others. A win win for everyone

Finding the good in things brings pleasure not disappointment

Letting go of expectations means not being sad so often

And in amongst all these very simple and practical things is your belief

If your belief is that life is hard and without reason then that is how it will be for you

If on the other hand you understand that this is just one life in many and that it is great to be here then life is different for you

The recognition that you are not your body, your soul has a body and so learn not to obsess about the body you occupy

You are not your body

And yes you can stay young

The hidden secrets of staying young are really in the open it's just that we don't see them

Open your eyes and look around

Who has got it, who understands how to stay young?

Who has not and is aging before your eyes?

What are the differences?

Learn to stay young it makes life so much nicer

Some people are old at thirty others still young at ninety..

Where are you?
